As Senior Scientist ( Flow Chemistry Specialist for Early Development Scale-Up ) within our Synthetic Enabling Technologies team you’ll be recruited as a highly skilled Organic Chemist with hands-on experience in flow chemistry to join our early development team. This role is pivotal in implementing continuous flow techniques to rapidly scale up synthetic processes for small molecule drug candidates. You will work at the interface of chemistry, engineering, and digital innovation to accelerate the transition from lab-scale synthesis to clinical supply. Ready to get started?

Main responsibilities:

• Flow Chemistry Implementation: Design, develop, and optimize continuous flow processes for early-phase drug candidates, ensuring scalability, reproducibility, and safety
• Process Acceleration: Apply flow chemistry to shorten development timelines by enabling rapid reaction screening, real-time monitoring, and efficient scale-up
• Technology Integration: Collaborate with automation and digital teams to integrate flow reactors with data capture systems, PAT tools, and AI-driven optimization platforms
• Route Evaluation: Assess batch vs. flow strategies for new chemical entities (NCEs), selecting the most efficient and sustainable approach for early development
• Scale-Up Support: Translate flow-based lab processes to kilo-lab or pilot scale, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with medicinal chemistry, analytical sciences, and formulation teams to ensure seamless process development and knowledge transfer
• Documentation & Reporting : Maintain detailed records of flow experiments, contribute to technical reports, and support regulatory documentation for clinical supply

About you

• Experience : Proven experience in flow chemistry, including reactor design, reaction optimization, and scale-up. Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and reaction engineering. Familiarity with continuous manufacturing principles and process analytical technologies (PAT). Experience with automation platforms and digital tools for reaction monitoring and control
• Soft and technical skills : Experience with commercial flow reactors (e.g., Vapourtec, Syrris, Corning, Uniqsis). Knowledge of AI/ML tools for reaction prediction and optimization. Understanding of GMP requirements and regulatory considerations for early-phase clinical manufacturing. Experience in integrating flow chemistry with robotic platforms or high-throughput systems. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Education : PhD or MSc in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Languages : English, French, fluency in both
