As NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) Senior Scientist within our Analytical Sciences team, you'll lead our NMR laboratory while providing critical structural elucidation expertise to support drug development projects. Ready to get started?

Our Analytical Sciences department is part of the synthetic platform within Global CMC Development, striving to become an industry leader in the development of transformative medicines. Based in Montpellier, this role offers you the opportunity to apply your NMR expertise in a collaborative environment dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical development through scientific excellence.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead the NMR laboratory (manage equipment, plan & do experiments, and implement open access NMR services for chemistry support)
• Provide expertise for structural elucidation to support analytical development and chemical development teams (e.g.: proof of structure on drug substance, synthesis intermediate and impurities)
• Represent the department in scientific and strategic meetings, contribute to regulatory documentation, and address questions during internal and external audits
• Monitor technological innovations in NMR spectroscopy and implement advanced experimental techniques to enhance analytical capabilities
• Implement digitalization and modelling tools to enhance NMR innovation
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including chemists, analysts, and project teams to solve complex structural analysis challenges
• Contribute to scientific publications and participate in conferences as an external advocate for Sanofi's NMR expertise

About you

• Experience : Strong expertise in NMR spectroscopy with demonstrated ability in structural elucidation of small molecules in a pharmaceutical or related industry (molecules coming from chemistry synthesis)
• Soft and technical skills : Strong expertise in NMR spectroscopy with demonstrated ability in structural elucidation of small molecules in a pharmaceutical or related industry. Excellent teamwork abilities, open-minded approach to problem-solving, strong oral and written communication skills in English, ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints.
• Education : PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related field with specialization in NMR
• Languages : Fluent in French and English
